Highlights

Why IMU?

  • Malaysia's first private medical college

It began in 1992 as the International Medical College, the first private medical college in the country, and became a university in 1999. That history is the point: medicine is not one of its subjects, it is its origin.

  • The transfer route to a foreign medical school

It launched Malaysia's first global medical partnership programme: a student starts here and can transfer to complete the degree at a partner school in Britain, Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand or the United States.

  • More than thirty-five partner universities

Its credit-transfer network covers more than thirty-five universities worldwide, which gives the degree more portability than most private medical schools can offer.

  • Health education, not only medicine

Alongside medicine it covers dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, health sciences and complementary medicine, with clinical training across three sites.
