Tenaga Nasional Berhad, the largest electricity utility in Southeast Asia, owns UNITEN outright. That is not an administrative detail: it is why the university specialises in power engineering and energy economics, and why it sits so close to an industry that hires its graduates.

Electrical Power Engineering and Energy Economics are standalone degrees here rather than tracks inside a general programme — which is rare in Malaysia.
